Michael Dunstan

Michael Dunstan is a pensive folk artist born in Western Australia, now residing in the incredible Blue Mountains of New South Wales. At 30 years of age, Mike has been writing warm, relaxing acoustic songs for nearly 10 years now. His laid-back attitude and preference for a slower pace of life is exemplified in his music, which roots itself in a mix of traditional folk and relaxed surf-rock styles. His lyrics are open and honest, seeking to reflect on nature, travel, mindfulness, serenity, and growth. Most recently, in August 2026, Michael released the heartfelt new single ‘Trust What You Feel,’ which many listeners have received as their favourite song in his catalogue to date.

Dunstan’s live performances truly showcase his captivating atmospheric fingerstyle guitar playing, foot stomping grooves and soulful vocals. Through extensive touring, Michael has shared stages and line-ups with many incredible Australian musicians, including Kim Churchill, Steph Strings, Ziggy Alberts, Jordy Maxwell and more. There have been fewer live performances over the last two years whilst chasing trail running goals and dreams around the world, but the shift back towards music is a welcome change and is providing much-needed life balance. With plenty of unreleased music yet to be recorded, there is plenty to look forward to in Michael’s musical journey.
